 First Steps to Starting
a League

A league must start with 2 or more members and have a minimum of 8 members within its first year.

A League Director must be selected to run the league, with a “second” chosen in case the LD cannot perform his/her duties for whatever reason.

All members must download and complete a “Membership Application” and send it in.

You should select a name that is appropriate for a family environment and the league logo must also be in good taste. We can design a simple logo for you at not charge if you wish.

All information on local riding areas used by the league must be submitted and approved by the MBRA before being posted in public.

The League Director must moderate their own league board within the MBRA Forum and frequent it whenever possible.  (The MBRA will provide help if needed at no cost).

The League Director must have downloaded and read the entire MBRA Buggy Book before accepting position.  Full Version Hard Copy will be shipped after enrollment.

Mom, Dad and the kids all riding within a fun group designed for learning and safety. See what we're all about at an MBRA meet.

The minimum safety requirements

A sanctioned buggy in the MBRA, is one which provides superior safety to an ATV.

Your buggy must be commercially produced and include,

  1. Roll cage/Brush bars – Can be securely bolted or welded but must protect the driver in the event of a rollover from all 4 sides.

  2. Seatbelts – Minimum of a lap belt but a 4 point is suggested.

  3. Disc brakes – No “Friction band” style brakes or less, allowed.

Engine sizes – from 50cc to 400cc

Minimum Rider safety requirements
In order to ride or compete with other MBRA members, minimum safety gear is required for all riders.
For your own safety, Please do not show up at an MBRA event without these or you will not be allowed to ride.

Helmet - Dot approved Helmet or better. A Full face helmet is suggested if competing

Window nets or Arm restraints – Arms being stuck out of the cage in the event of a rollover can cause some serious injuries. Rollovers are rare but when competing or just “goofing off”, accidents happen! Consider it an insurance policy.

Eye cover – Mud, dirt, rocks and even bugs will put an eye out and your buggy driving days would be over! You MUST have a visored helmet or goggles covering those eyes.
